People's Peace Fund organizes a private event in recognition and support of the excellent hard-core dialog camps conducted by Creativity for Peace since 2003 in Santa Fe.
June 29, 2009, Caesaria.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In June 5 2007 we held historic events for peace in both Palestine and Israel under the slogans: Together for Peace, Two States for Two People, End of Occupation, End of the Conflict.

The events were initiated and produced by Sulaiman and Gadi with the help of IPCRI (Israel-Palestine Center for Research and Information), as well as MachsomWatch and other organizations, with the endorsement of Marwan Barguti, and the Palestinian Authority and President Abu Mazen.

It comprised of four main events, plus many around the world. The main ones were:

On June 5 a gathering of over 3,000 Palestinians from all over the West Bank in Anata, along with several hundred Israelis, plus a gathering of several hundred Israelis in the entrance to the cinematec of Tel Aviv, with several Palestinian spokespersons;

On June 7 a gathering of over 7,000 Palestinians in Nizlat Isa (Baka el Shrkiya), broadcast live by Al Jazira TV in Arabic.

On June 8-9 a gathering of a thousand Israelis in Tantur.

Jibril Rajub spoke in both Anata and Nizlat Isa. The event in Anata was broadcast live via satellite to the event in Tel Aviv that took place at the same time. The event in Nizlat Isa was broadcast live by Al Jazira.

These were the biggest demonstrations for peace ever held in Palestine. See New York Times
and Yedioth Ahronot. Huge barriers in getting media attention and coverage on positive events ("good news") regarding the relations between Palestinians and Israelis held the events from making big waves in the media, as they should have.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Photos from the 10 days workshop in Bosnia for people wounded in the conflict and ready to listen and talk. A mission of 35 people, hosted by the wonderful staff of the Nansen Dialog Center in Mostar (NDC Mostar), a visit to Srebrenica, culture activities, rafting, and other common adventures made this trip a solid foundation for the project of Wounded Xrossing Borders that is going on since March 2008. lead and funded by People's Peace Fund.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

YBY is a group of peace activists from both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The group works together in order to change the reality in both societies, by setting a personal example of Palestinians and Israelis breaking the walls of unfamiliarity, co-operating, and trusting each other and share their hopes and fears.

YBY is an open group that welcomes anyone who has hope regarding the conflict and is willing to engage in a direct and open-minded dialogue.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Photo collection from various events, including hosting the Bosnians that later hosted us, the 10 days dialog meeting in Bosnia, hosting peace activist professors from South African and Northern Irish who work with Global Majority, presentation in Peace Education workshop, guiding a reality-tour on route 60, receiving award from Search for Common Ground

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Example of grassroots project sponsored by People's Peace Fund: A day of rest and fun for children of Palestinian peace activists. The money went to the buses and food. All the staff are volunteers without sources for funds.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows for Peace have Palestinians from both Palestine and Israel, and Jewish Israelis communicate and meet and also have some fun in the summer. In 2008 they received a big contribution from People's Peace Fund to help them through difficult financial times. They have been doing wonderful work since 1991 and yet even for Windows for Peace, funds are much too hard too get, with the bureaucracy of the big donors taking away too much of the good energies.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The making of one of the most important documentaries on the conflict, Encounter Point, was aided by Gadi Kenny already in 2006, and later by the People's Peace Fund. People's Peace Fund continues to support the makers of Encounter Point, Just Vision, in their upcoming projects.
